5 things you need to know about NEBOSH.
Following our popular Things you need to know about IOSH blog, we now turn our attention to that other popular health and safety acronym…NEBOSH. So here’s what you need to know:
The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are truly all inclusive with entries from organisations of all sizes and from a wide spectrum of industries from the oil and gas industry right through to local authorities and education establishments. One such organisation is the Edinburgh Napier University, which is one of the largest universities in Scotland, supporting 18,000 students.
Things will be looking a little bit different at this year’s Safety and Health Expo.
If you’ve visited the Safety and Health Expo before, you’ll know that the venue is jam packed with exhibitors, demonstrations and presentations. There’s so much to see and do and not a great amount of time in which to do it. But whatever you do make sure you find the time to visit the RoSPA stand, where we will be bringing you something completely new this year…

As the name implies, Unit NGC3: Health and Safety Practical Application allows you to demonstrate your NEBOSH NGC1 and NGC2 accumulated knowledge by applying it to real examples from within your place of work. It’s where the theory becomes a reality, and where you get to see what risk reductions your knowledge can bring about.

With this in mind we decided to present a new award this year, designed to recognise the top RoSPA student from all of our NEBOSH accredited courses. With such a high standard, competition was tight, but we eventually managed to narrow it down to a winner, presenting them with their award at this year’s RoSPA Awards ceremony.
