From London to Singapore, The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are renowned across the globe for rewarding health and safety excellence, and 2019 marks the 63rd year of these prestigious awards.
Since 1956, we have witnessed thousands of organisations take the stage to accept their hard earned awards, and seen the scheme evolve and change with new categories and new sponsors. This year marks the 14th consecutive year that NEBOSH will headline sponsor the RoSPA Awards. We caught up with Dee Arp, Director of Technical Standards at NEBOSH to find out more about their involvement over the past fourteen years.
“For the fourteenth year, NEBOSH has returned to sponsor the annual RoSPA Awards. Why? Because our vision and mission are fundamentally the same; making the world safer through education and knowledge.
It’s an ambitious aim. But with the support and work of organisations – like those who win a RoSPA Award – it’s one step closer to achieving.

ds as well as the Sir George Earle Trophy which is presented to the best sector award winner. Each year I am amazed by the quality of the RoSPA Award winners and the hundreds of organisations who demonstrate their commitment to raising health and safety standards.
The real heroes, of course, are the people behind these achievements. Their dedication and passion are the driving force for excellence and inspire others to save lives and protect people from harm.
At NEBOSH we are proud of the work that we do. The people who achieve our qualifications – and I’m sure there are a few of you reading this – help ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.
A significant number of our students are based in Middle Eastern countries so I’m delighted to hear that RoSPA will be heading to Dubai next year for a celebratory event. Together we’ll have the opportunity to share our message and expertise with many more people across the globe.
